Report #2— January 11, 2007

Hello DEVO parents

The winter is flying by as fast as these kids are skiing.  The second half of Christmas camp went great.  We were able to ski powder, SL, and GS.  The kids challenged each other in duel SL stubbies, and timed GS runs.  Nothing gets them skiing faster then to go head to head or time them. 

This week we have been concentrating on SL as this coming up weekend (Jan. 13-14) is the Cranston Cup.  Today we imitated a SL race, in fact we held an intrasquad SL race on the race hill.  The kids were given bibs and encouraged to strip down to their race gear.  They each got two timed runs.  Today they showed great team work as the boys carried the girl’s clothes down while they ran their race runs, girls while the boys raced. Here are the results:

Please label all your kids clothes as many have the same outfit and they will get mixed up on race day.

I would plan on eating lunch in the lower lodge both days next weekend as trying to get back up to the upper lodge to eat will take too much time and may result in someone missing their start.

Later this week I will get out the schedule for the race weekend.
