Devo Update
We had great training last weekend. Nighthawk was challenging both days
and the training was as good as it gets. We are going to be more than
ready for Kelly Canyon this weekend. Everyone gave a good effort last
weekend, had a great attitude and skied well. Wednesday night we will
train G.S. on the Upper Ridge and then we're off to Kelly Canyon.
I have everyone going to Kelly this weekend. Somewhere in the back of
my brain, I am thinking there might have been a couple of people that
will only be there for one day. Please remind me who you are. I need
to send entries in tomorrow. We will have a team meeting at the Ameritel
Spectrum at 8:00 in the lobby. We will make it short since the Opening
Ceremonies of the Olympics will be on T.V. If you cannot make the meeting
please call me after 8:30 pm to get the information. My cell # is 208-412-8565.
The entries fees for the race are $18.00 per day. Please send your entry
fees in to Shannon for the race. Lift tickets for competitors are $20.00.
You will be able to pick those up at the ticket window, the morning of
the race. Parents will also receive a $5.00 discount if you bring your
season pass. The regular price for an adult lift ticket is $30.00.
Please come with your skis prepared for Saturday. There will not be any
time on Friday night to get those done. McU Sports is bringing their
Ski Technician, Matt Cantrill to help us with tuning and waxing on Saturday.
Talk about "big time". I have to admit this is the first
race that we've ever traveled with our own technician. I have reserved
a meeting room on Saturday night night where we can tune and wax for
Sunday. BBSRA will bring some benches and tarps. If any of you have benches
and tarps please bring them. Matt will be available Saturday night to
help our athletes with waxing and tuning. The room is reserved from 6:00-9:00pm.
I will let you know the waxing schedule on Friday but I am thinking we
will separate the J4's and the J5's.
On to the training center. I need the Devo Team to dig in and help keep
the Training Center clean. Right now we are still allowing food in the
Training Center but those days might be numbered if we can't clean
up after ourselves. Please use the trash cans. Hopefully, I won't
need to mention this again, but if I do... it might mean that we are
banning food in the Training Center. Believe me...we don't want
to do that.
And lastly, thanks to Molly Mannschreck who has volunteered to ride the
bus on the 22nd. I am still looking for someone this Wednesday and the
following Wednesday. Any volunteers? We'd really appreciate it
if you have the time.
Thanks for a great weekend. See you on Wednesday.
