Freestyle Varsity Report #1
January 12, 2005
Snowbird, UT. Intermountain Competition

Friday: Halfpipe
The Bogus team had three kids entered into the halfpipe competition.  The kids had a great time with this farley new event even though they don't have the facilities to train as much as some of the other mountains do.  Despite our lack of training the Bogus Team took home two medals, a first and a second.  Congratulations to Megan Marks and Nat Steven for a job well done.

Saturday: Moguls
The Team discovered a new use for the Suburban while waiting an hour for the canyon to open due to avalanche danger, Wall Ball. After finally making it to the hill the athletes made good use of their time, the competition was cut to one run due to possible avalanche danger above the mogul run. The Bogus Team was able to bringing home another two medals. Good job to Nat Steven for a second and Ryan Hofstetter for a third.

Sunday: Dual Moguls
A difficult but encouraging day for the athletes and Coach. After a full weekend of skiing the Bogus Team seemed a little sluggish. They made a lot of improvements this competition with their technique and mind set but were unable to capture any medals.  Congratulations to all the athletes that competed and we look forward to next week's competition in Sun Valley.
