Varsity Report Varsity Team Report After coming off some promising performances in Park City, UT, the BBSRA Varsity team started the 07/08 season on a good note. However, the race allowed us coaches to evaluate the deficiencies of the athletes and implement proper procedures at our holiday camp. Our goal as coaches was to use this extended block of time to analyze, discuss and correct the fundamental issues each athlete was experiencing. After a bleak fall, we found ourselves dealing with large amounts of snow, which sidetracked much of our training initiatives. Instead of letting the weather hinder our progress, we used this opportunity to get as many miles on snow as possible. Coupled with the training we did get there were vast improvements seen in each athlete’s ability. This camp is a great starting point for the beginning of the season. Looking at the progress made through this camp, each athlete’s goals seem to be achievable. The camp served as the backbone of our training preparation for races for the first half of the season. This is evident when looking at the results a few of our athletes had during the camp. BBSRA athletes, Graham Black and RJ Klotz, traveled to Jackson Hole Topolino Time Trials had multiple top five finishes, with Graham Black finishing third overall. Meanwhile, Sean Griffard skied to a personal best 13th place at the Western Region FIS Tech Series in Sugar Bowl, CA, scoring an 84-point result.
