General Information
Do you want to ski more than one day a week? Have you been in Mitey Mites for two or more years? Are you 9 years or older and want to do a little traveling and compete in the North Series? If you answered yes to any of these questions you should consider joining the Development Team. Please call the office at 336-5295 or email info@bbsra.com for more information

The Development Team continues the progression of skiing skills and racing technique. This program runs from mid-December to mid-March. The Development Team is open to racers age 8-18.

The program fees for the Development Team includes Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday night. In addition, Christmas Camp is included. This program is for committed athletes who want to train and ski race. If your desire is to be a dedicated ski racer...this is your program. Your travel schedule will revolve around the North Series race schedule. The Development Team is highly discouraged from skiing in the home YSL races. This group will be training and/or free-skiing during YSL races, gearing up for North Series races.

Once a Development Team athlete reaches the age of 13 they become eligible for the fall conditioning program with the Varsity team. At this point the Development Team racer has the option of moving up to the Varsity Team if they feel they want more time on snow and want to commit more time and energy to ski racing. The qualification criteria to move up to the Varsity team is as follows; Male athletes must have Intermountain points below 300 in two events or Intermountain points below 250 in one event in order to be eligible for the Varsity team. Female athletes must have Intermountain points below 350 in two events or Intermountain points below 300 in one event in order to be eligible for the Varsity team.

Racing...
The Development Team will race in the North Series races. One north series race will be held at Bogus Basin. Entries are handled through BBSRA. For calendared out of town races, BBSRA will send coaches. All out of town travel will require parent transportation. The coaches will meet the racers at the ski area where the race is to be held on the morning of the race. You will be notified of the details of the out of town races at least two weeks prior to the event. Racers need to qualify for North Championships and Intermountain Championships. Qualifying Criteria will be published in the Fall.
